Gerald Wayne Harville, a talented and passionate general contractor, passed away peacefully at Jackson Madison County General Hospital on Monday, October 16, 2023. He was born on Sunday, January 15, 1950, in his hometown of Jackson, TN.
Gerald dedicated his life to honing his craft as a general contractor. His career spanned many years, during which he established himself as an exceptional handyman who could tackle any project with ease. His work was not merely a profession but rather a true passion that he poured his heart into. He took immense pride in every task he undertook, leaving behind a legacy of quality workmanship that will stand as a testament to his skill and dedication.
However, Gerald's talents extended far beyond construction projects. Those who were fortunate enough to know him also remember him for the remarkable person he was. With a laid-back demeanor and an unwavering calm spirit, Gerald was a pillar of strength and stability. He had an extraordinary ability to remain composed even in challenging circumstances, never losing his temper or allowing stress to cloud his judgment.
Gerald possessed a heart filled with goodness and generosity. He had an inherent kindness that he eagerly shared with everyone he encountered.
Outside of work, Gerald found solace in the great outdoors. He enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing, finding peace amidst nature's wonders.
Among Gerald's proudest accomplishments were the mission trips he embarked on to Mexico. These journeys allowed him to use his skills and compassion to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.
Gerald was also a founding member of Campbell Street Church of Christ, where he faithfully served as a church deacon. His unwavering faith and commitment to his spiritual community were evident in his actions and interactions with others.
Gerald is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Mae Harville of Jackson, TN, who was his rock and constant source of support throughout their 53-year journey together. His son, Terry Harville of Jackson, TN and wife Bethany, will forever carry memories of his father's wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love. In addition, Gerald is survived by his brother Alvine Harville and six grandchildren Aaron, Raven, Brant, Hayden, Anna and Ethan, whose lives were profoundly impacted by their grandfather's love and presence. He also leaves a daughter-in-law Xena Lovelady.
SERVICES: A service to celebrate the life of Gerald will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Campbell Street Church of Christ with Danny Sorrell, minister officiating. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the church and continuing until the service time at 6:00 p.m. There will be a family burial at Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed the Mexico Mission Fund at Campbell Street Church of Christ, 1490 Campbell St, Jackson, TN 38305 www.campbellstreet.org
