George A. Hughes, Jr.
George A. Hughes, Jr, (also known as Buck) died peacefully on Monday, April 25, 2022, at his residence at the age of 73.
He was born on August 16, 1948, in Key West, Florida, the son of the late George A. Hughes, Sr. and Eileen Markey Hughes.
Buck graduated from the University of Tennessee, Martin and played football there for three years.
After graduation, he taught school and coached football at Jonesboro JV in Jonesboro, GA. He changed careers and owned and operated Capco Express in Atlanta, GA for over 30 years before retiring and moving to Tennessee.
Buck and his wife are members of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.
He is survived by his wife, Kathey Jinkins Hughes of Jackson, TN; his four brothers, Mike Hughes (Arlene) of Atlanta, GA, Jack Hughes (Gwen) of Miami, FL, Jerry Hughes (Mary Lou) of Key West, FL and Larry Hughes (Robert Soifer) of Orlando, FL, and godson Denny McMillon.
