Gail Grace Ford Hedgepeth of Jackson, TN, age 78, passed away peacefully at Christian Care Center of Medina, TN on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, after a long illness. Born in Orlando, FL on September 30, 1944, she was the only daughter of the late William Clifford and Jeanne Carter Ford.
Gail graduated from the University of Mississippi in 1966, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. It was here at Ole Miss where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education degree and met her husband, Tommy. She taught over 33 years before retiring from the Rankin County School System in Brandon, MS. Afterwards, she owned and operated two successful Hallmark card and gift shops in Jackson, MS.
Gail married James “Tommy” Hedgepeth on August 8, 1966. They shared a beautiful and happy marriage of 56 years. Together they raised two children, Mike and Tanya, and enjoyed traveling and raising dachshunds. They moved from Mississippi to Jackson, TN after their retirement in June of 2007. She was a communicant of All Saints Anglican Church in Jackson, TN, along with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Tommy, along with her son, Mike Hedgepeth of Florence, MS, his wife Susan, and their two children Wesley and Isabella. She is also survived by her daughter, Tanya Hedgepeth Wright of Jackson, TN, her husband Archie, and their two children Caitlin and Aidan.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 15, 2023 at All Saints Anglican Church, 212 McClelland Road, Jackson, TN, with Father Wes Gristy presiding. An interment of earthly remains will follow at All Saints after the service. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to service at the church.
