Graveside services for Evelyn Hope Sipes, 90, will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, November 5, 2010 at Highland Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ron Hale and Tim Fortner officiating. Mrs. Sipes died on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at the TN State Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN. Hope was born in Eldorado, AR, on August 8, 1920 the daughter of the late Louis Abbott and Carrie Virginia Tobin Primm. She, along with her husband Houston, owned and operated Wallick Music Company for many years. Hope was a sixty year member of West Jackson Baptist Church, where she was active in the Virginia Hudson Sunday school class and sang in the church choir. She was a successful business owner, devoted Christian, proud parent, an even prouder grandparent and great-grandparent. She was a member of Credit Women International and enjoyed traveling, working in her yard and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William Houston Sipes, Sr. of Jackson, TN; two sons, Bill Sipes and wife Margaret and Louis Sipes and wife Donna and two daughters, Gina Fortner and husband Tim and Carroll Hall and husband Frank all of Jackson, TN; nine grandchildren, William Smith Sipes, John Timothy Fortner Jr, and wife Holly, Benjamin Phillips Fortner, Matthew Sheridan Sipes and wife Ashley, Joseph Franklin Hall III, Caroline Virginia Hall, William Richard Sipes and wife Jade, Carrie Tobin Fortner Irvine and husband Jack, Michelle Sipes Jenkins and husband Mark, two great grandchildren Addison Leigh Jenkins and McKenzie Claire Jenkins. Mrs. Sipes was preceded in death by her sister, Thelma Virginia Wallick. Pallbearers serving will be her grandsons, William Smith Sipes, John Timothy Fortner Jr, Benjamin Phillips Fortner, Matthew Sheridan Sipes, Joseph Franklin Hall III and William Richard Sipes. The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the caregivers of the TN State Veterans Home for the excellent care of Hope and Houston.Friends will be received on Friday, November 5, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
