Emogene Lott, age 93, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at her residence in Jackson, Tennessee.
She was born on June 1, 1931, in Madison County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Claude and Pennye Harris. Emogene lived a life characterized by dedication, warmth, and a strong sense of community.
Emogene spent her career as a bookkeeper, a profession that allowed her to contribute to the financial well-being of various businesses while honing her meticulous attention to detail. Her commitment to her work was exemplary, reflecting her character and strong work ethic.
She received her early education at Pope Elementary and Northside High School, followed by further studies at West Tennessee Business College. This educational foundation equipped her with the skills that would support her career and serve her throughout her life.
Emogene was a devoted member of Poplar Heights Baptist Church for many years, where she found joy and fellowship among her church community.
Emogene is survived by several nieces and nephews, who cherished her for her kindness and nurturing spirit.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Pennye Harris, her husband, A.B. Lott, one brother and four sisters. They were integral parts of her life, and her love for them has been a significant influence throughout her years.
A visitation with family and friends will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors. This will be followed by a graveside service at Highland Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m.
Emogene Lott will be remembered for her warmth, dedication, and love for her family and community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
