Emma Jean Crossett, age 88, of Jackson, TN, passed away at West TN Veterans Home in Humboldt, TN on Saturday, November 13, 2021.
Jean was born in Parkin, AK on Thursday, September 7, 1933, to the late Denzell Harris and Margaret (Roberts) Jones. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald who passed away March 24, 2000.
Jean married Donald “Jerry” Crossett, the love of her life, on April 26, 1952. During their marriage they made their family complete with the addition of their daughter, Joyce. Together they shared a life of happiness and laughter.
Jean was a woman of many talents. She worked for many years and retired from Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN as a receptionist where she became an instrumental part of the day-to-day operations. Jean loved crocheting and spent many hours creating afghans and quilts. She had a gentle nature and loved to spend time with her husband and daughter. Jean especially loved her sweet cat, Peggy Sue. Peggy Sue was the greatest companion for Jean. They spent hours petting on each other and Jean allowed Peggy Sue to sleep on the bed where she slept every night.
Survivors include her devoted daughter Joyce Youmans and husband, Terry of Humboldt, TN; sisters, Nancy Ewbank of Jackson, Cynthia Hagedorn and husband, David of Arlington, TN and Shirley Bausman and husband, David of Parsons, TN as well as other family members and neighbors who will mourn her passing.
A graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 1:00 pm. Chuck Maxwell will officiate and family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
