Elmer Allen Wilson Jr.

Elmer Allen (Al) Wilson Jr. age 93, died in Jackson, TN after a brief illness. He was born in Birmingham, AL the son of Elmer Allen Wilson, Sr and Florence Elwood Wilson. Al was retired as Operations Manager for Parks-Belk Department Store in Jackson. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, TN for 44 years where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, served on various committees as well as the Barnabas Group. He was a member and Past President of the Kiwanis Club of Jackson, TN. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran following WW2. He was a life-long bowler and golfer and supported Union University’s golf team for many years.

He is survived by two sons, Kenny (Ouida) Wilson of Dacula, GA and James (Mary Beth) Wilson of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Sandra (Mark) Alexander of Bartlett, TN; and Carolyn Stuart of Jackson, TN; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Al is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Myrtis who passed on December 2, 2020 and his grandson Kenny Wilson, Jr. who passed on February 10, 2021.

Pallbearers to serve are: Mike Bledsoe, Hal Currin, Walt Duffy, James Orman, Bill Simmons, and Wayne Nix.

SERVICES: Monday, February 22, 2021 at Arrington Funeral Directors with Dr. Justin Wainscott officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am – Noon and Service will be at 1:30 pm at Arrington Funeral Directors Chapel. Visitation and Service will be live streamed @ www.arringtonfuneralgroup.com and all times are Central Standard Time. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
