Elizabeth Luckey

A memorial service for Elizabeth McGuire Luckey, 97, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, May 15, 2011 in the Chapel Mausoleum of Highland Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Tom Ralstin officiating. Mrs. Luckey died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Arrington Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.Mrs. Luckey was born in Columbia, MO on November 6, 1913, the daughter of the late Joseph Daniel and Hattie Jane Forbis McGuire. She was married to David F. Luckey, Jr who preceded her in death. Mrs. Luckey attended Stevens College in Columbia, MO and Lambuth College in Jackson, TN. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Dr. James McLemore, DDS for many years. She also worked as a Gray Lady at Western State, as well as serving as activities Director for Medi-Center.She is survived by her son, David F. Luckey, III of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Dr. Phyllis L. Townsend and husband William Moore of Brentwood, TN, Linn McClain of S. Fulton, TN, Rebecca L. Luckey and husband Keith Johnston of Memphis, TN, Elizabeth L. Townsend and husband Ben Klima of Alexandria, VA, David F. Luckey IV and wife Heather of Jackson, TN, Kim P. Bailey of Jackson, TN and Lawrence P. Luckey of Nashville, TN.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and three children, Joseph Patrick Luckey, Michael Linn Luckey and Betty Louise Luckey Townsend, a brother, Howard McGuire and sister, Louise McGuire Grant.The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 2935 Highway 45 Bypass, Jackson, TN 38305.Arrington Funeral Directors148 W.
