Elizabeth Lyons GalbraithMemorial services for Elizabeth Galbraith, 84, will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday Feb. 6th at St. Luke?s Episcopal Church. Mr. and Mrs. Galbraith will be placed in the columbarium at St. Michael?s Episcopal Church in Cookeville, TN. at 4:00 P.M. Saturday Feb. 6th in Cookeville, TN. Mrs. Galbraith died Saturday January 30, 2010 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital.She was born November 22, 1925 in Jackson, TN the daughter of the late Edward Paul Lyons and Margaret Steele Hampton. She was a master gardener, coordinator/developer for the literacy program in the Missouri Bootheel, District director and Executive director for Volunteer Girl Scout Council, member of the WASPS (Women?s Air Service Pilots) during WWII, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. She is survived by three sons; Scott Galbraith and wife Kathy of Monrovia, MD, John Galbraith of Memphis, TN and Paul Galbraith and wife Venice of Jackson, TN; a daughter Meg Galbraith of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; Heather, Matthew, Kathryn, Lilith, and Morgan and two great grandchildren, Timothy and Draven. She was preceded in death by her husband the Reverend Charles M. Galbraith.In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be directed to St. Luke?s Episcopal Church or the Jackson Madison Co.
