Dr. David M. Favara, age 76, died on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Morningside Assisted Living of Jackson.
David was born in Memphis, TN on August 25, 1940, the son of the late Samuel D. and Allene Mitchell Favara. He served his country in the United States Army and the Tennessee State Guard. He received his education at Mississippi State University including his doctorate in Psychology. He was a retired Psychologist with the Jackson Madison County School System. He was also employed with Jackson State Community College. He was an avid gun man and was known as a “Master Piddler”. He was a member of Skyline Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Betsy Ross Favara of Jackson, TN; two sons, John David Favara and his wife Tanya and their children Samuel and Harrison of Jackson, TN, Jason Michael Favara and wife Carrie and their son John Thomas of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Samantha Favara Heidelberg and husband Scott and her children Alexander Hollingsworth and Abigail Hollingsworth.
SERVICES: A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Sam Pace officiating. Military honors will follow the service.
