Doris Jennette Freeman entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at her Regency Retirement Village residence at the age of 85.
She was born in Coxville Community in Gibson County on November 23, 1937, the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruby Weaver Criss. Doris was married to Harold Lloyd Freeman who preceded her in death on February 3, 2023. She retired from J C Penny as a retail clerk with 40 years of employment. She was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church.
Doris was passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting rabbits of all types and working in her flower beds.
She is survived by her two sons, David Freeman and wife Darlene and Johnny Freeman and wife Stephanie all of Jackson, TN; four grandchildren, Drew Freeman, Tyler Freeman, Kelly Freeman, and Christie Fonville, and four great-grandchildren, Charlotte Fonville, Zoe, Emma and Elsie Freeman.
SERVICES: A funeral service for Doris will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev, Ron Hale officiating. A private burial will take place at Oak View Cemetery near Alamo, TN.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 12:00 p.m.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorial contribution be directed to Alzheimer’s Association, 699 Oakleaf office Lane, Memphis, TN 38117 or online at www.alz.org .
