Donna was born May 31, 1951 and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 3, 2018 after a 6-year battle with multiple myeloma. Donna was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and previously served on several committees. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed life to the fullest.
Donna is survived by her husband and best friend, John, and their beloved daughter, Kathryn MacKorell and her husband Jay and grandchildren, Katie Beth and Jacob of Smyrna, TN. She also leaves her father, Dr. Franklin Day, of Jackson, TN, her sister Ebbie Clark and husband Paul of Hendersonville, TN and many nieces and nephews in Middle TN. Donna also leaves Billy and Jessie McKissick Spain of Jackson, TN and Dr. Jeff and Michelle Spain of Fisherville, KY.
Donna was pre-deceased by an infant son, Adam; her mother Dorothy Bond Day; grandparents Fred and Katie Adams Day of Malesus, TN, John L. and Pauline Hagy Bond of the East Union Community and a niece Amy Elizabeth Spain.
Donna was an avid animal lover and equestrian, learning to ride with her grandfather, Fred Day, before she could walk. She enjoyed a lifetime of riding horses and mules. She leaves behind her two beloved mules, Rebel and Clyde and two cherished dogs, Buddy and Tucker.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Brian Walker and Dr. Anastasios Georgiou and staff at Kirkland Cancer Center and Dr. Andy Coy and staff at The Jackson Clinic for their compassionate care.
SERVICES: A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 2:00PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Welch officiating. Burial will follow in Browns Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30PM until service time at 2:00PM.
