Donna Carolyn Land McCarver passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her residence in Jackson, Tennessee surrounded by her loving daughters at the age of 81. Donna led a remarkable life that touched the hearts of many.
Born on March 20, 1942, in Jackson, Tennessee, Donna was the beloved daughter of the late Rev. Z. P. and Ethel "Dot" Stubblefield Land. She grew up in a loving and nurturing home that instilled in her the values she carried throughout her life.
Donna dedicated many years to serving the city of Jackson as a clerk in City Court. Her passion for public service was commendable and she took great pride in contributing to her community. Colleagues and citizens alike praised her dedication and professionalism.
In addition to her career achievements, Donna found great joy in various activities. She had an outgoing personality that lit up any room she entered. Donna's warmth and kindness made everyone feel welcome and loved. One of her favorite hobbies was scrapbooking, which allowed her to capture cherished memories that will forever be treasured by her family and friends.
Donna's deep faith played a significant role in her life. For eighteen years, she served as the Ladies Leader for her church family, providing guidance and support to those in need. Donna's unwavering commitment to her faith and her country inspired others around her to lead lives filled with love, patriotism, and compassion. She was also a former member of the church choir where she used her beautiful voice to uplift spirits during worship. Her desire for adventure took her to the beach and mountains in her travels.
Along with her parents she was preceded by her husband Thomas McCarver in 2002 and her younger sister, Norma Little.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Hoefling and husband Guy of Jackson, TN; Sherry Wiggins of Jackson, TN; Rebecca McCarver of Panama City Beach, Florida; brother, Mickey Land and wife Joan of Paducah, KY. She was also a cherished grandmother to Stephen Hoefling, Ty Hoefling and wife Shantell, Trey Hoefling and wife Mikali, and Nelly Gonzales. Donna's great-grandchildren, Amelia Hoefling, Xander Hoefling, and Nova Hoefling, brought immense joy to her life.
SERVICES: A funeral service for Donna will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Inspire Church of Jackson, with Rev. Cliff Walker officiating. The burial will take place in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Inspire Church of Jackson located at 235 Moize Cut Off Rd, Jackson, Tennessee 38305 beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continuing until 6:00 p.m. and again on Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers serving will be Stephen Hoefling, Ty Hoefling, Trey Hoefling. Michael Land, Matt Land and Cody Land.
Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Hoefling, Daniel Little, Terry Stone, Lynn Morris, and Jim Alexander.
The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to Inspire Church of Jackson, 235 Moize Cut-Off Road, Jackson, TN 38305 .
She will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, warm heart, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
