Dennis G. Fisher

Dennis Galen Fisher, age 64, of Jackson, Tennessee, died Tuesday afternoon, December 27, 2016, at Jackson General Hospital, surrounded by family and close friends.

Born April 15, 1952, in Humboldt, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Robert Fisher and Evelyn (Buckner) Fisher. He attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and opened Sounza Muzik in Jackson in 1973. Dennis’s passion was music, and he was a talented guitarist. He was known for his vast knowledge of recorded music, which was surpassed only by the joy music brought him.

Dennis was a true friend and was loved by many. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Barbara Badgett, his daughter and son-in-law, Claire and Parks Alexander of Greenville, South Carolina, two grandchildren, Lillian and Fisher Alexander, and his sister, Joy Bradley of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Memorial services for Dennis will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W. University Pkwy, Jackson, TN, 38305, with Rev. Tom Patton officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm to 3:00 pm. The celebration of his life will continue at 5:00pm at the BPO Elks Lodge #192 at 28 Executive Drive in Jackson. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kirkland Cancer Center, 620 Skyline Drive, Jackson, Tennessee 38301, or any charity of choice.
