David Randall King

David Randall King passed away peacefully in his home in Jackson, Tennessee on March 6, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Born on May 9, 1941, in Wilmington, Delaware, David lived a life full of varied experiences and deep devotion to those he held dear.

David's career was marked by versatility and passion. He primarily dedicated his working years to truck driving, a profession he truly enjoyed, allowing him to explore the open road and experience the beauty of travel. Additionally, he demonstrated his leadership skills as a manager in a shop specializing in sharpening saws, where he contributed his expertise and ensured the highest quality of service.

An honorable veteran, David served for four years in the National Guard. His service not only reflects his commitment to his country but also parallels the work ethic and dedication that defined him throughout his life. He and Shirley have been members of Friendship Baptist Church of Medina for several years. David loved his church and church family dearly, spending many days in fellowship, gathering to worship the Lord.

As he grew older, David found joy in watching baseball games and races on television, relishing in the excitement of the sport and sharing these moments with family. He took immense pride in his family, which remained his proudest accomplishment. David's love for them was unwavering, serving as the cornerstone of his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley King; children, Nikki Casteel and Joshua Jones (Tracy); grandchildren, Shea Minton (Jeremy), Peyton Latch, and Avery Latch; great-grandchildren, Carter Minton, Caiden Minton, Caleb Minton, Mia Minton, Cruz Camacho, and Brooks Latch; furbabies, Rowdy, Lily, Daisy, and RJ; and horses, Fancy, & Lady. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Anna King; son-in-law, Michael Casteel; and brothers, Harry King and Elijah King.

A funeral service will be held 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Bro. Landon Mason officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service time. Burial to follow at Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers include: Todd Fesmire, Joshua Jones, Peyton Latch, and Zachary Rickman.

David Randall King will be remembered not only for his many contributions in work and service but, most importantly, for his deep and abiding love for his family. His memories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
