David Nathaniel Carter, Jr., age 68, died October 4, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born on August 17, 1953, in Jackson, Tennessee to the late David Carter, Sr. and Sara Maitland Carter.
David was retired and had lived in the Beech Bluff Community for more than 30 years. He spent his last several years of retirement enjoying the simple life, and his greatest pleasures were family gatherings, watching NASCAR races, fishing, hunting, gardening, and feeding the wildlife from his front porch. He enjoyed God’s creation of the great outdoors, especially his birds and the rising and setting of the sun.
David was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl Dodds. He is survived by his two children, Nathan Carter and Sara Carter; four grandchildren, John David Carter, Graham Carter, Brennan Carter and McKenzie Alexander; three stepchildren, Brooks Tyree, Amy Strong, and Evan Stewart; five siblings, Donna Hill (Bobby), Pam Betler (Larry), Paula Yates (Greg), Keith Carter, and Kem Cobb (Owen); plus many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: Visitation will be Saturday, October 9, 2021, at 2:00PM followed by a memorial service at 3:00PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
