Danny Weldon Jackson

Danny Weldon Jackson received his heavenly reward on Friday, July 29, 2022, at the age of 69.
A native of Fort Worth, TX, he was born on August 18, 1952, the son of the late Carles and Ruby Nelson Jackson. His formative years were spent in Memphis, TN where was a graduate of Central High School. He proudly served his county in the United States Army. The deep faith by which he lived enriched and encouraged those around him. He had served as a deacon and elder at Skyline Church of Christ. He led and participated in many programs within church and community that touched many lives. Danny retired from Superior Fire Protection, where he served as President along with various other leadership positions for the API Group for over 45 years.
Danny always saw the best in everyone. It was important to him to know your name, shake your hand, and ask about your family. He was an encourager to everyone he met, and his smile was contagious. He championed and supported many causes and served on the board of Mid South Youth Camp. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed outdoor activities and had a love for travel.
Danny is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Joy Hayes Jackson of Jackson, TN; his son, Grant Jackson (John Bourgeois) of Dallas, TX; his in-laws, Evelyn & Buck Barnett of Jackson, TN, brother-in-law, Jerry Hayes (Grace) of Jackson, TN; brother Bob Jackson (Janet) of Jackson, TN; and proceeded in death by his brother Glenn Weaver (Peggy) of Murfreesboro, TN.
SERVICE: A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. A memorial visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. at Arrington Funeral Directors.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that contributions be directed to Kirkland Cancer Center, Patient Needs, 720 W.
