Cynthia Wheat Agee, formally of Humboldt, TN, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024, in Gallatin, TN, at the age of 74. Her legacy of kindness, support, and love will continue to resonate within her family and community for years to come.
Born in St. Louis, MO, on Monday, December 26, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Betty Carroll Wheat. She graduated from McKenzie High School, where she was a dedicated basketball player, then attended the University of Tennessee at Martin where she received her Bachelor of Science degree.
After marrying the late Dr. Phil Agee, they raised their family in Humboldt, TN and were the proud owners of the Eye Care Clinic of West Tennessee, where Cynthia served as the office administrator. In addition to her administrative role, she was also the successful owner of four MaggieMoo's ice cream stores, which brought joy to countless customers.
A vibrant member of the community, she was actively engaged through various social endeavors. A member of the Humboldt Country Club, she enjoyed the company of her friends. After her move to Gallatin, TN, to live closer to her grandchildren, she joined Tennessee Grasslands Golf and Country Club, immediately making friends. Cynthia loved being involved and looked forward to Happy Hour Mondays and water aerobics with other residents in her condominium. She also enjoyed her monthly “Golden Girls” grandma lunch bunch, which brought her great joy to share stories about her grandchildren. She served and was active at Central Avenue Christian Church while living in Humboldt and Long Hollow Church after moving to Middle TN.
Her greatest joy was her family, and she proudly took on the role of CiCi to her grandchildren, supporting them in all their activities and achievements. Always equipped with a batch of chocolate chip cookies, she made sure that her home was a haven of warmth and comfort, where laughter echoed, and love flourished. She enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids fish in the pond and swim in their pool. They remember her for her big hugs, her caring nature and making them smile.
Cynthia was a devoted wife to her late husband, Dr. Phil Agee, and as a mother, she knew no bounds. Those to forever cherish her memory are her children: Clayton Arrington (Kerry) of Gallatin, TN, Drew Agee (Sherry) of Rutherford, TN, Amy Arrington Adams (Austen) of Nolensville, TN, and Ashley Agee Donahoe of Humboldt, TN. Her role as a grandmother was one of her proudest accomplishments, with her grandchildren—Connor, Chloe, Brady, Baylor, Bennett, Dakota, Shea, Eva Grace, Jason, Adelais, and Alefair—being their #1 fan and the source of her greatest joy.
She is also survived by her loving siblings, Robert Wheat (Leeann) and Lynn Spellings, both of Paris, TN. Her absence leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her spirit lives on through the countless memories and the love she shared so freely.
