Colleen K. Boroughs, 58, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Jackson Madison County
General Hospital after a brief illness.
She was born May 9, 1961 in Coldwater, MI the daughter of Louie Van Wormer and
Constance Wilson Van Wormer.
Colleen loved Jesus with all her heart and everyone else she met too. That unconditional and
sacrificial love had a way of encouraging others to become the very best versions of
themselves. No matter the day-to-day ups and downs, joys and challenges, she enjoyed life to
the fullest – even the small things: leaves changing colors, fragrant flowers in the yard, word
puzzles, sending cards to let others know she was thinking of and praying for them. Her smile
could light up any room, and her laughter was contagious. She was a faithful servant, deeply
committed to her friends and beloved organizations. She worked for State Farm Insurance and
consistently attended Grace Community Christian Church most of her adult life until retiring
and relocating to Tennessee in January of 2018. Since that time, she has made a quick and
significant impact, volunteering both at The Hope Center and Family Christian School. She was
loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband D. Morgan Boroughs & his family, two daughters, Celeste
Knott (Chris), Ashley Lougheed, five sisters, Candace Bondurant (James), Carma Flanigan (Tim),
Cynthia Jarrad (Andrew), Cheryl Sprinzl (Martin), Christie Mains (Phillip), and their respective
families, including four grandchildren, Bethany Knott, Caylee Belle Knott, Gabriella Knott and
Ariel Knott.
