Clyde Louis Threlkeld

November 4, 1949 — March 19, 2025

Winter Haven Florida

Clyde Louis Threlkeld, age 75, was born on November 4, 1949, in Dyer County Tennessee where he grew up on the family farm and loved running around playing and working and sometimes getting into mischief.

The family moved to Chicago where Clyde graduated from Kelvin Park high school in 1968. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and was sent to active duty in Vietnam. He was an artillery specialist and served for almost 2 years. After his discharge, he moved to Warren, Michigan, and began to work for Copper and Brass Sales. He was married in 1974 and had a daughter, Stacy, in 1979 and a son, Eric, in 1980. He continued to work both in the factory and as a truck driver until he retired after 39 years of service. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting and shooting, traveling to see family, meeting the guys at the coffee shop, and working in the yard. He was a diligent worker, always ready to help someone, and well-liked by all.

Clyde would always be seen in his Vietnam Marine Veteran hat, and when people would thank him for his service he would respond, “You’re more than welcome. I enjoyed every minute of it.”

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Sherry Torrance Threlkeld, his parents, Arrelly and Mary Lee Threlkeld, a brother Roger Threlkeld, a brother-in-law, David Rhoads, and a niece Kristi Threlkeld.

He is survived by a daughter, Stacy (Jon) Stacy, a son, Eric Threlkeld (Amy), a stepdaughter, Heather (Brian) Norton, five grandchildren, Lawson, Jordan, Tobin, Savannah, and Luke. He is also survived by a sister, Theresa Rhoads, niece Debbie (Rusten) Etheridge and their son RJ and Katrina (Charlie) Blackwood and their children Levi and Annabeth. Two dear aunts, Gracie and Rachel, have also survived Clyde.
