Charles Keith Donaldson, affectionately known as Charlie, passed away peacefully in Jackson, Tennessee, on October 27, 2024, at the age of 71. He was born on January 22, 1953, in the quaint town of Plain Dealing, LA. At the age of 7, he was adopted by Darrell and Shirley Donaldson of Fort Worth, Texas, who raised him to be the amazing man he was.
Charlie dedicated a significant portion of his career to the art of meat cutting, with 36 years spent proudly serving in Kroger Meat Departments. His commitment to quality and service was evident throughout his tenure, earning him the respect of both colleagues and customers alike. Being a proud sergeant in the Marines, Charlie served his country with honor, a characteristic that remained with him throughout his life. Known for his direct personality, he had a remarkable ability to connect with those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
Charlie cherished his family above all else; he was always there for them, embodying the true essence of love and support. His devotion was felt deeply by those fortunate enough to be part of his life. He embraced the joys of fatherhood and reminiscences filled with laughter, warmth, and treasured memories. He had a zest for life that included a love for the great outdoors. Fishing, particularly cat fishing, brought him immense joy, and in his later years, he found peace and satisfaction in mowing his yard and working a little in his yard. Traveling with Beverly, his beloved wife of 53 years, to destinations like Gatlinburg, TN, Fort Walton Beach, FL, California and Hawaii enriched his life with countless adventures and beautiful memories.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Beverly Martin Donaldson; adored children, Keith Donaldson (Peggy), Brian Donaldson (Jennifer), and Karen Dew (Stacey); grandchildren, Kelli Jamison (Holden), Dylan Donaldson, Braden Donaldson (Julianna), and Austin Dew; great granddaughter, Saylor Jamison; siblings, Andy Donaldson of Arlington,TX; and John Donaldson, of Burleson, TX.
A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 1, 2024, at East Union Baptist Church with Brother Mark Wade officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Charlie’s laughter, love, and spirit will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of kindness and dedication to family will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
