Cathy Ann Goodrich, born on July 29, 1957, in Memphis, Tennessee, departed from this world on February 1, 2025, in Jackson, Tennessee, leaving behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her.
Cathy was a devoted medical transcriptionist, initially honing her skills at the Jackson Clinic before bravely stepping out on her own to create a workspace at home. Her dedication to her profession was a reflection of her caring personality, a trait that was woven through every aspect of her life. Cathy cherished her family above all else, tirelessly tending to their needs and showing profound love for her beloved animals, which included her treasured dachshunds and cats.
An exceptional cook, Cathy savored the joy of preparing meals for her family, a passion she embraced wholeheartedly until health challenges hindered her abilities. With a playful spirit, her husband Jerry humorously claimed that he couldn’t replicate her culinary talents, underscoring the deep affection shared in their household. Cooking was just one of the many ways Cathy expressed her love, creating not just meals, but memories that brought her family together.
Reading was another of Cathy's great loves; she often found solace in the pages of a good book. Her enjoyment extended to crime television, where she would become engrossed in the intricate plots that unfolded on screen. Cathy's knack for crossword puzzles delighted her, engaging her mind in a way that became a cherished pastime.
Above all, Cathy's proudest accomplishments stemmed from the love she bore for her family. She treasured her husband, daughters, and grandchildren, embracing her role as a wife and mother with unwavering devotion. The bonds she nurtured will be a lasting testament to her spirit—a testament to a woman who was not only a caregiver but also a source of strength and comfort.
Left to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Jerry Goodrich; loving children, Jennifer Goodrich, Elizabeth Goodrich, and Lucas Goodrich; adored grandchildren, Lilly Goodrich, and Sofia Goodrich; dear brothers, Roger Deversa, and Michael Primeaux; beautiful sister and best friend Toni Maness. She was preceded in death by her father, Peter DeVersa, mother, Glenda Primeaux (Primo), and loving sister Julie Deversa.
A funeral to honor Cathy’s life will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2025, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Mr. Gary Moore officiating. The burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Medina, TN. Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m.
Cathy Ann Goodrich leaves behind a community enriched by her kindness—a community that will forever cherish the memories created through her laughter and her love. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will continue to inspire those who loved her.
