Carrie May Attiyeh, 87, passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly home on February 25, 2015 at her residence. Born in Ohio on April 21, 1927, Carrie spent most of her life on the Southwest side of Chicago and lately resided in the home of her daughter, Alice, in Jackson, Tennessee. She was an excellent cook, an avid reader and delighted in puzzles of all kinds. She also had a special affinity for dogs, including her most recent faithful companion, Mak.
Carrie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill, her four siblings and her daughter in law, Nancy Attiyeh.
In addition to her daughter Alice Krawczyk and husband Stan, she is survived by three other children, Richard Attiyeh, Martha Attiyeh and husband Yanni and Bill Attiyeh and wife Maggie – six grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. In keeping with her wishes, there will be a private service at a later time. The family wishes to thank Mrs. Attiyeh’s caregivers, Miss Meeka and Miss Bonnie Duncan for their kindness and gentle nature in which they cared for her.
The family is requesting that memorials be directed to STAT “Saving The Animals Together”
