Funeral services for C.B. Parker, 90, will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Mr. Parker died on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at the Spring Gate Rehabilitation Center in Bartlett, TN.Mr. Parker was born in Lauderdale County, TN on March 5, 1920, the son of the late John Allen and Wertie Mae Andrews Parker. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp, where he received the Distinguished Unit Badge, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one bronze star, the Purple Heart, the Good Conduct Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with four Bronze Stars. He was a self employed food broker. He was a former deacon of Allen-Edgewood Church of Christ and was currently a member of the Germantown Church of Christ.He is survived by his wife, Catherine Fox Parker of Collierville, TN; two daughters, Connie Anderson and husband Philip of Southaven, MS and Carolyn Masters and husband Andy of Collierville, TN; a brother, W. T. Parker of Olive Branch, MS; a sister, Ruth Nabors of Bartlett, TN; a sister in law, Ellen Parker of Brownsville, TN; three grandchildren, Michelle Masters, Amanda Johnson and husband J.D. and Jon Masters and wife Allyson and one great grandchild, Rebecca Johnson.The family will be receiving friends on Monday, May 10, 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
