Bonna Smith Gilbert Middleton, age 87, died on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at her Jackson residence with her family at her side.
She was born on December 9, 1928, the daughter of the late, Joseph Lloyd and Ollie Mae Weaver Smith of McNairy, McNairy County, TN. She attended high school in Bethel Springs and attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson, TN. She was retired from the Refreshments of Tennessee a subsidiary of Coca-Cola Bottling of Jackson with forty years of dedicated service as a supervisor.
She is survived by her son, Rusty Gilbert and his wife Gayle of Jackson, TN; a daughter, Pam LeBlanc and her husband Jim of Trabuco Canyon, CA; a brother, Charles Smith of Jackson, MS; a sister, Louise Sparrow of Jackson, TN; grandsons, Major Jonathan C. Gilbert and Captain Brett M. Gilbert and step grandson, Jason D. Tacker and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Middleton and two brothers, James L. Smith and Harold Smith all of Jackson, TN.
SERVICES: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2016 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with burial to follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service at Arrington Funeral Directors.
