Bobby Joe Lively died on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 84.
Bob was born on April 27, 1938, in Lenoir City, TN the son of the late W. J. and Ella Mae Jenkins Lively. He grew up in Blount County in the Maryville and Alcoa areas. He entered the Army just after completing high school entering Surveillance Radar school. After completion he was assigned to the staff and faculty school brigade as a lab technician until he received the honor of being transferred to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY in the headquarters and training detachment, where he served until his honorable discharge in November 1956. After his military duty, he attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and the Knoxville Business College. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and enjoyed reading in his retirement years. He was retired from the State of Tennessee as a Property Manager. He was a member of Old Hickory Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gladys Marie Lively of Jackson, TN, three sisters-in-law, Bernice Mills of Corinth, MS, Brenda Harvill of Jackson, TN, and Carolyn Harvill (Larry) of Michie, TN; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded by his parents, two brothers, William R. and Ronnie Lynn Lively and his sister, Carolyn Darlene Lively.
SERVICES: A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Ridgecrest Cemetery with Gary Smalley officiating. Burial will follow the service.
