Billy S. Wootten, Jr., age 70, died Wednesday evening August 25, 2021, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born August 14, 1951, the son the late Billy Sylvester Wootten, Sr. and June Callis Wootten. Billy spent his working career as an insurance adjuster and retired from Auto-Owners Insurance Company in 2020. He loved golf, especially with the Senior Golf League, family trips to the beach, and Tennessee Football. He was a member of the Old Hickory Rotary Club.
Survivors are his wife, Jan Isaac Wootten, of Jackson, TN; one son, Bryan Wootten of Hendersonville, TN; two daughters, Kelly Wilford Kormos (Chris) of Nashville, TN, and Kim Wilford Ryan (Shawn) of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers, John Wootten of Gallatin, TN, and Chris Wootten (Tammy) of Gallatin, TN; two grandchildren, Ford and McCall Kormos and baby Ryan, who is expected in January 2022. Bill also leaves his constant companion, Sophie.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends Saturday from 12:00PM until service time at 2:00PM.
The family is requesting that facial coverings be worn.
Those serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Hartsfield, Andy Britt, Gene Camp, Tom Jones, Pat English, Johnathan Stewart, Winston Truett, and Jake Flippin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Golf League Group and are asked to sit as a group.
