Funeral services for Billy Joe Winslow, 82, of Humboldt, TN will be held at 12:00 PM July 28, 2010 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.Mr. Winslow died on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Regional Hospital of Jackson.He was born in Madison County, TN on July 18, 1928, the son of the late Gilmer Kirby and Flora Roberts Winslow.He is survived by his two daughters, Tracy Rogers and husband Russ Rogers and Holly Nix and husband Keith Nix; seven grandchildren, Alexandra Rogers, Tiffany Rogers, Taylor Winslow Rogers, John Rogers, Hayden Nix, Drake Winslow Nix and Lance Nix and his sister, Fern Winslow Lamport.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Winslow, as well as sisters, Mary Hoffey, Jewel Willoughby, Dale Martin and a brother, Robert A. Winslow.Billy Joe was a veteran of WWII with the 11th Airborne Division and also served in the National Guard. He retired from the Building Department of Madison County, TN and was a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.Pallbearers will be Keith Nix, Russ Rogers, Ray Lamport, Eddie Lee Herndon, Trell Hooper, Steve Hardin, Mitch Patton and Shannon Geyer.Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Geyer, Bill Patton, Troy Willoughby, Carl Long, Tom short, Bobby Day, Bill Blurton, Joe Day Gibbs, Cotton Maxwell and Billy Robison.The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
