Billy Ray Price, age 74, died May 1, 2023, at the Veterans Hospital in Memphis, TN. Born on July 9, 1948, in Bells, TN, he was one of six children born to James and Mildred Hart Price.
His working career was in transportation with Mid-South Oxygen. Billy proudly served in the United States Army.
Camping and fishing is how he spent relaxing, and also enjoyed playing Texas Hold’em. The St. Louis Cardinals were the team he supported. In earlier years, Billy was also known as somewhat of a “pool shark.”
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shane, two brothers, one sister, and one grandchild, Emma Grace.
Billy is survived by one daughter, Shelley Clark (Todd) of Oakland, TN; son, Chad Price of Rossville, TN; two siblings; grandchildren, Alan, Taylor, Justin, Shane, Preston, Devan, Brianna, Cayson, and Paisley, and a great-grandchild Ada Rae. His grandchildren had a very special place in his heart. “Buddy,” his number one four-legged pal, was his devoted special friend.
SERVICE: The Funeral Service for Billy Price will be held Monday, May 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with burial to follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m.
The family has requested that any memorial donations be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or online at www.stjude.org .
