Funeral services for Betty Joyce Robertson, 79, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 11, 2013 in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Rev. Travis Grimsley and Rev. Cliff Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. Mrs. Robertson died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Maplewood Healthcare of Jackson.
A native of McNairy Co., TN, she was born on November 4, 1933, the daughter of the late Ira L. and Mildred Cagle Norwood. She was a member of Calvary Church Ministries and enjoyed numerous activities including quilting, canning, playing Bingo, reading and playing word puzzles.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Oscar Robertson of Jackson, TN; her son, Charles Robertson and wife Pam of Jackson, TN; her daughters, Dorinda Davis and husband Ronnie of Jackson, TN, Laquita Warren of Jackson, TN and Janae Owen and husband Dan of Medina, TN; two sisters, Loudene Pierce of Pensacola, FL and Lois Gibbs of Adamsville, TN; eleven grandchildren, Kevin Robertson, Trevor Robertson, Brandon Robertson, David Davis, Amanda Luther, Christopher Little, Christina Little, Hannah Tubbs, Ryan Jones, Whitney Owen and Austin Owen and twenty great grandchildren.
Grandsons to serve as pallbearers for the service.
The family is requesting memorial contributions be directed to the Last Second Shelter Dogs, c/o Deming Animal Clinic, 2173 Highway 70 E., Jackson, TN 38305 or to Calvary Church Ministries, 235 Mozie Cut-off Road, Jackson, TN 38305.
The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors, 148 W. University Parkway, 731/ 668-1111 www.arringtonfuneralgroup.com
