Bernice Brownlee Phipps, 84, died July 16, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born November 1, 1929 in Tupelo, MS. She was an active member of Woodland Baptist Church. She loved caring for children.
Bernice is survived by her husband Gerald Phipps Sr, one son Mark Brownlee of Vacaville, CA, two daughters, Kathy Brownlee of Oakfield, TN, Lillian Robinson of Brownsville, TN, one brother Ray Fleming of Earl, AR, one sister Martha Canada of Southaven, MS, two grandchildren, Jesse Brownlee, Kaitlyn Brownlee, step-children Jan, Joy, Jon and Jerry Phipps. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jesse Brownlee, siblings Opal, Ruth, Hilliard, Bertha and David.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be directed to American Cancer Society, 2935 US Highway 45 By-Pass, Jackson, TN 38305.
SERVICES: Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at 1:00PM in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors with Bro. Maurice Hays officiating. Burial will be in East View Cemetery in Union City TN., The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2014 from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.
