Barbara Herriman of Memphis, Tennessee died January 3, 2025. Age 85. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio August 16, 1939 to Sylvester and Helen (Wrubleski) Lazuka. Barbara graduated from Alleghany College, Meadville, PA and received her MA from the University of Florida. She was a dedicated elementary teacher and taught in Ohio, Maryland and Tennessee. Together with her husband Tom, they owned and operated longtime Memphis business Babytime.
Barbara is survived by sisters Camille Rutherford and Kathy Lazuka (Mike Bostic) and brother Sal (Trish) Lazuka and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Michael and Walter Lazuka, preceded her in death.
Barbara enjoyed travel, painting, playing guitar, book clubs and sewing. She rescued many cats over the years and cared for them with love and affection. She belonged to St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Memphis, TN where she participated in the altar society and as a lector.
Barbara will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 26th at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Memphis, TN. Social hour will begin at 10:00 am with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.
