ARTIE TIDWELL JONES

Artie Virginia Tidwell Jones, age 90, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at her residence in Jackson, TN. She was born April 18, 1927 in McNairy County TN to the parents of George & Lula Richardson Tidwell. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson, TN.
She was a loving and protective mother of her three sons and a homemaker who traveled to numerous countries with families and friends of the TN Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. In her earlier years she was active in youth sports as the head coach of the girls church league basketball at First Baptist Church. She was also the member of a local bridge club
She is survived by three sons, Mike Jones of Jackson TN, Tim (Kappie) Jones of Jackson, TN, and
Pat (Laurie) Jones of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, three grandchildren, Trent Jones, Trevor Jones, and Tyler Jones, 3 great-grandchildren, Chloe Higdon, Landon Jones, and Jackson Jones, one brother-in-law, Bill Perkins of Dyersburg TN, one sister-in-law Ernestine Tidwell of Adamsville TN and several beloved nephews & nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Tidwell of Adamsville TN, her mother Lula
Richardson Tidwell of Adamsville TN, her husband, Norman G. Jones of Jackson TN, her brother George (Jaki) Tidwell Jr., her sister LuDean Tidwell Hudson, and her sister Betty Sue Tidwell Perkins.
Pallbearers to serve are Trent Jones, Tyler Jones, Trevor Jones, Mark Perkins, Phillip Perkins, Steve Tidwell, and Larry Hudson.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, July 14, 2017 at Arrington Funeral Directors Chapel with Dr. Justin Wainscott officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 14, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Arrington Funeral Directors.
